Ideal Logic + System (s15, s18, s24, s30)

System boiler, natural gas only

Combustion figures

FigureNatural gas (G20)
CO₂ at high rate
More infoHide infoThe MI gives no CO₂ setting figures. The air/gas ratio valve is factory-set and must not be adjusted during commissioning.
Not given in MI
CO₂ at low rate
Not given in MI
Maximum CO
More infoHide infoAt maximum and minimum rate, at the flue gas sampling point, readings allowed to stabilise (commissioning flowchart, MI p. 65).
Less than 350 ppm
CO/CO₂ ratio
More infoHide infoAt maximum and minimum rate (commissioning flowchart, MI p. 65). At service (MI 3.1), if the ratio is greater than 0.004 after flue integrity, combustion seals, inlet pressure and gas rate are verified, contact Ideal.
Less than 0.0040
O₂
Not given in MI
Working inlet pressure
More infoHide infoChecked at maximum rate at the inlet pressure test point on the gas service cock (MI 2.22). MI 1.8 gives a minimum permitted operating pressure of 18mb at the appliance inlet, allowing 1mb loss from a minimum meter outlet of 19mb, and says the boiler can deliver full output at inlet pressures as low as 14mb. The external gas cock can reduce the pressure read at its test point (the drop rises with heat input: see the graph in MI 1.8). Gas supply: 2H – G20 – 20mbar (Table 1).
Appliance inlet
18 mbar minimum
Gas rate at maximum
More infoHide infoGas consumption, central heating, Table 2. Calculated using a calorific value of 38.7 MJ/m³ gross (34.9 MJ/m³ nett).
s15
1.537 m³/h
s18
1.872 m³/h
s24
2.512 m³/h
s30
3.135 m³/h
Flue integrity
More infoHide infoAt the air inlet test point, boiler at maximum rate. The MI says O₂ more than or equal to 20.6% OR CO₂ less than or equal to 0.2% (commissioning flowchart, MI p. 65).
O₂ ≥ 20.6%
CO₂ ≤ 0.2%

Check these figures against the MI for the appliance in front of you, matched by GC number and manual date. Combustion work needs a calibrated analyser and a Gas Safe registered engineer.
